HOHOHO! : D Its GOURMET'S TIME AGAINNNNN!!!!!


I Went with my family to try some authentic french food as a celebration for my birthday. Its a 5 min walk from Farrer Park mrt station. Located just by the main road, no air-con people, so its not your normal posh restaurant where you have to wear formal clothes there. Although its a weekday, but after 7pm, the restaurant was almost full, And do note that there's NO RESERVATIONS! Be there early (:

For a starter, we ordered Soup of the day and Escargot with bread. (and extra order of garlic bread)

On the left of pict, the black stuffs are escargots! YUM! The escargots were well marinated and cooked with garlic and some herbs, so it doesnt stink or taste disgusting. VERY NICE!


They used the same garlic on these garlic bread with butter. Toasted to perfection, it is crispy on the outside and soft in the inner. SERVED HOT! :)


And after I finished the starter I'm half full already, that answers my query of why western dishes are always in small proportions. Because you are eating the set meal that is!

Grilled Lamb Chop with Pan Fried Marinated Eggplant & Garlic scented Mashed Potato


AHH! That's my order! heh! A very good choice of course (: Its one of the best lamb chops i've eaten before. I used to eat lamb chops which are pathetically small. And this isnt! Medium well 75% cooked on the outside and not so in the inner. which makes the meat tender and juicier! OH NO lamb smell! lovelove!


Grilled Pork Chop with Gratinated Potatoes Dauphinois.

My sister's order! Uh My sister said it was okay better than the chicken. But I feel both are acceptable nice only. haha especially the chicken, You can taste it elsewhere too perhaps.


Chicken leg "Chasseur" style with Saute Potatos


Steam Rolled Dory Fillet With garlic Served Mashed potatoes.


If you are looking for fish, or something more healthy less oily. This would be the best choice. My mama ordered this. I took a bit of it to try. The fish is fresh, soft, smooth and doesnt taste fishy. But its abit too blend for my tastebuds though! haha I still love my meeeeat.



Duck breast meat ( I forgot the full name)

That's my grandma's order! She wanted it cooked, and the result, tough meat. spoils the texture when the meat is well done. It would taste very nice if its medium well 50% or 75% if you think its too raw. 4 generous pieces of breast meat, tgt with gravy and a sticky rice thing beneath. Not sure what's that but it makes you very full. haha. dont really fancy it.

We ordered Chocolate Souffle, Honey cheese Cake and Pudding




I personally like the cheese cake alot. very thick cheese yet not have the cheesy taste.
haha dont know how to describe but its yummy



I like the souffle yet hate it. I like it because it is very hot! its like baked crust outside and totally soft inside like musse. I hate it because it is dark chocolate. NOT SWEET AT ALL !!



5 of us ate a total of $121.35 inclusive of gst and serv charge.
The meal last 1 1/2 hour

OKAY! ITS WEESING GOURMET'S TIME AGAIN! (: woa woa woa have been really really lazy to update and photos just kept piling up!


fondueeeeeee! From Häagen-Dazs, well well the fondue was alright only and yet it was super overpriced, not worth at all considering that it costs $42.90. You just get the fun out of it.

Eastern-Northern Restaurant/ "Dong bei Xiao chi"

This place is situated along the east coast road, only a bus stop away from roxy square. Bus available: 32,14,12,10 etc

For a starter I would always order the sliced cucumber mixed with garlic, raddish, soy sauce,seasme oil etc. Crunchy and refreshing I would describe (:



As for their dumplings, "san xian guo tie" is one of my favourites too. The generous filling of pork and cabbage wrapped in perfect thickness of dumpling skin, wooo YUM! really. so worth so worth. Another dish is called " cong you bing" *picture below on the left*
"taste like prata" wanhua commented. OKay i seriously dont know how I should comment on it. oh mann time to go search for some better vocabs!














DINGDING! I'm in love with fish soup lately. And I've high expectations for the fish I'm eating.
Alot of places sell disappointing quality of fish. I HATE FISHY SMELL and ROUGH TEXTURE FISH. BUT! TWO places so far sell fish soup that have met my expectations. 1. Aljunied market 2. AMOY food centre

Fish soup with rice cost $3.80. Very reasonable price though there's only like lettuce and sliced fish. generous serving of fish, each of them has got a very smooth texture and most importantly, NOT FISHY AT ALL. (:

actually I didnt really wanna comment about the food there. But since i've got the photos.
well, I tried the Baked rice, and its a worthy choice for CHEESE lover! THICK HOT LAYER OF CHEESE, taste just like those cheese on the pizza. You can choose beef baked rice, chicken chop baked rice etc.
beef is not bad there. they give alot.
not mentioning the huge amount of rice they serve tgt with.
filling!
