Vision Screening @ Rainbow centre (A school for children with intellectual disability, multiple disabilities and autism)

Everytime when I have vision screening, I never fail to feel reluctant and dreadful to wake up because it either always starts very early, or that I have to travel far. but the weird thing is i always feel much alive when i'm carrying out my tasks, and I must say i really enjoyed interacting with these needy people, or be it just general public. A sense of satisfaction i must say, and this brought back what miss lek told me before, that you must really enjoy what you're doing if not sooner or later you'll be drained out by it ..

Anyways, I've chatted with one of the young teacher over there, and I came to know their jobs better and understand a little more about Autism.

Autistic kids do not just live in their own world and are always quiet, hiding somewhere in the corner. Autism is a brain disorder that impaired social interaction and communication, and people with autism have repetitive and restricted behaviour.

Some of the symptoms include:
+ Purpoely movement like hand flapping, body rocking
+ Compulsive behavious as they appear to follow rules
+ Perform daily activities the same way each time and repeat the same thing over and over again especially if they like doing it. eg: turning a door knob, imitating the tv characters
+ Easily distracted
+ Focusing only 1 thing at a time
+ Self injury ( which i've seen it, when they are under stress, or facing unfamiliar strangers or envirnoment which is out of their routine life)

(Autism can also be accompanied by hyperactivity)

Here are the photos (:

goodbye

Just yesterday, my cousin's dog went missing in the afternoon. The neigbour saw it running about at 3 plus pm and my cousin reached home at around 3.50pm to find that her dog was missing. Only at 7 pm plus we received the news, and I rushed down to her house in hope to find the dog. Another 2 of my cousins came at 11 to find too, but the dog was no where to be found.

And today i recevied a call : " Wanwan(the dog) was found.... but dead"
yes...The dog was found dead at the bus stop, with ants crawling all over...

It hit me and my family hard, and its unbelievable that it actually happened. if it was missing, then at least, we know its probably alive somewhere, but now, found ..dead..
If i went to the busstop to find, i could have found her alive, if i went all the way there..

Its puzzling, how the dog manage to get out the house, and its blood boiling as there might be a high possiblity that someone actually attempt to kill it. I really hope not. I heard from my cousin there's this indian man who always tried to beat the dog up but HELLO its just a small innocent dog, screw him if he's the one!

ARGH. I always thought if the dog was able to get some training, perhaps she would be able to enter competition. she can sprint really fast, and jump really high, great agility, and she's gentle in nature, but perhaps she was too timid and gentle and that brought her down...

sigh.

things arent going smoothly ever since i'm back..

Anyways photos from my india trip are all here

Have been logging in to friendster.. and i just did
well everytime I browse at selective bunch of friends, haha they never fail to amaze me in some ways. Ok I shoudn't be reacting that way I guess because its been long since I graduated from secondary school and of course primary school. People do change right?

And everytime I thought to myself Why hadnt I changed much? I still look the same, still behave like what I used to be just that I learnt much more about life that I see things in a different way already, not as childish, and selfish compared to who i used to be. When I see my friends having funs and great nights out there, huge company of friends, I'm envy honestly. how much fun have I missed out?

Then.. I questioned myself again whether fun is what I want? Which are the things I want to do most?

Here is the list:

1) Spend more time with my family
2) Be an active volunteer in community service
3) Learn to live, perspective of life and mindsets
4) Connecting with more people be it young or old.
5) making more friends
6) Play! fun! getalife
