Hmm. happened to read today's "lian he zao bao" newspaper and i saw this particular article on the rise in the number of contact lens user getting infection. the article says 21 out of 22 of the infectants, used the same brand of contact lens solution. There is no concrete evidences to show that Bausch and Lomb company's" RENU multi-purpose solution" was the main cause of those infections. However the comapny went on to investigate their product for safety purposes.
In jan 06 there are alr 7 cases of these eye infections called " Fungal Corneal Infections" . since May 05 to jan this yr there hav alr been 19 cases . and this week 3 cases.
Out of the 22 contact lens [daily] users, 21 of em used renu multi purpose solution.
WAIT WAIThow come daily users needa use solutions? anyway the health promotion board and Bausch and Lomb company urge contact lens users to follow these steps.1) Rub ur contact lens with 2 fingers before using the solution.
2) when daily contact lens reached its expiry. pls disposed it
3) Do change the contact lens solution daily even if the contact lens is not in use
4) the box used to contain the lens are to be changed every 3 months
5) when theres any discomfort or sore eyes pls see a doctor asap. =)
